A downloadable picross3d-vr for Windows and Android

This is a prototype of a personal project of recreating the mechanics of Picross3D for  the Nintendo DS but intended for a VR experience, in which you have more immersion and control over the interactions with the puzzle.

The project uses Unity XR Interaction Toolkit as a base and  expands its uses and interactions.

You can grab the puzzle from up close or afar, with one or two hands and you can rotate it around as you like. You can also interact with the individual cubes when the controller is in contact with it.

  • Hand trigger (left/right controller) grab the entire puzzle to move it or rotate it around.
  • Index trigger (left/right controller) break a cube (if it's correct).
  • A button(right controller) / X button (left controller) to mark the cube. Prevents breaking it.
  • You can make up to 5 mistakes (attempting to break a correct cube). After 5 strikes, the puzzle completely resets.

The puzzle data is a ScriptableObject with a custom Inspector Editor Script with which you can very easily and visually set up the configuration of the nonogram puzzle. There is a selector of the view that shows the grid and you can enable/disable which block is part of the solution. You can also set which faces of the cubes will have hints and with the button Generate Clues, it automatically calculates the numbers.
